Fish: All fish will be 2 inches over the State DEM regulations minimum size. Bags limits will follow current State DEM and/or
Federal regulations. Fish not governed by a minimum size shall be at least 12 inches in total length. Size and bags limits will
be based on 2008 State DEM Regulations that should be available by May 2008.
Rules: Tournament rules will conform to the
Underwater Society of America’s (USOA) requirements for rules pertaining to the National Skindiving Championships. Specific
rules that will be best suited for this particular location and based on current State DEM regulations are forthcomming. Judges, referees,
and officials will be selected with the care and respect that this National Championship deserve. USOA Rules are linked here:

Scoring: One point is awarded per fish and per pound. The maximum weight to count toward scoring is 15 pounds.
Therefore the maximum points per one fish are 16 points.
Equipment: This tournament will be a paddleboard (kayak) tournament
with only muscle-powered transportation being allowed. A diver’s flag (12” x 12” minimum ) and personal USCG approved floatation
device are required by State Law. A dive knife is also required. We suggest a 5 mm or 7 mm wetsuit. Belt stringers are permitted
and popular with local divers. 55cm to 110 cm guns are generally used with 90cm being most common. Spearguns are permitted in
the tournament area. Spearfishing for any species will not be permitted in the tournament area by any competitor for exactly 30 days
prior to August 7th. GPS is allowed.
Travel Time: A 30 minute travel time will be given at the beginning and end
of the tournament. No spearfishing is allowed during this time.
